Asking for feedback on performance as an IT professional

I have created a form to give out to our client-partners.  This will let me know how me and my staff members are doing.

The questions on this form are based on https://bryanmanalo.com/how-do-i-evaluate-staff-member.

Overall I had some good feedback. 11 responses were given.

None, you have been an excellent bridge for us with the rest of the team. Despite our time difference I often find your online and you are able to assist with my requests in a timely manner.

Have our weekly meeting to talk about progress and any updates

He is always willing to receive/accept new requests, which is great. However, new requests can sometimes change the agreed upon scope or impact the tasks already in the queue. He can work on feeling more confident to push back and voice concerns when new requests do impact his timelines or when the requested changes do not make sense from a sustainability/process perspective.

I recall a specific issue I encountered, he needed to investigate further. Not only did he bring me a concrete solution, but also a new knowledge which to this day I am able to pass on to other colleagues and missions.

Maybe be a little less grumpy towards the others when they request something? :)

What do I take out of this?

  1. I already used the be less grumpy feedback to inform the staff member during one on one.  I also noticed this.
  2. I have yet to inform the staff member of this feedback regarding pushing back.
  3. It is good to know that the team is doing well in these 3 areas.
  4. Maybe the question should be phrased differently?  I'm glad for the positive feedback.  But how do I change the question so that I get more constructive feedback?
